Cockle Creek / Pasminco – Lake Macquarie

ESS is engaged to manage the NSW Government’s interests in the former Pasminco land at Cockle Creek, Boolaroo.  ESS has managed the land coming into Government ownership since October 2019 when the Lake Macquarie Smelter Site (Perpetual Care of Land) Act 2019 compulsory acquired the site.  Since then ESS has managed the environmental management requirements with the EPA and DPIE, established agreements with Waste Asset Management Corporation and Lake Macquarie City Council, driven direct negotiations with former developers including Costco, established a governance structure, developed the strategic business plan for the site, managed the rezoning, subdivisions, infrastructure planning, traffic impact assessments and delivery of key infrastructure to unlock development opportunities.
